Besides twisted pair cables, fiber optic cables are a standard in the commercial environment.
Fiber optics are particularly in the following applications, the method of choice:

The assembled connector can either be plugged directly to the active device, or to fiber optic adapters in a distribution panel. From the distribution panel will then be routed with patch cables.

• No splice, so no stress for the fiber and better attenuation
• Production under defined industrial environmental conditions (optimum temperature and humidity, no dust or other impurities).

Special requirements:

• The cable length must be known
• The wall breakthrough should be large enough for pulling eye (Typically 24 to 42mm depending on the number of fibers).
